Woohoo! We're finally off on our Tassie trip via Kalgoorlie, Streaky Bay, Adelaide, Geelong, Ballarat, & Melbourne.
Stayed the first night at Ardath, over the road from the Ardath Hotel.
It had a population of 2, the Bartender, who was the owner, & one old local, attached to the bar.
We bought a beer & a wine, & had a chat to the 2 of them. He said the previous week, he had 80 at his pub. A bike group turned up, & just about drank his little pub dry!
we stayed over the road for free, & took off early next morning.
Made Kalgoorlie the next afternoon, & decided to sightsee for a couple of days.
We checked out the Architecture, went out to the original 2 UP ring, did a tour of the Town Hall, checked out the last remaining brothel (from the outside) & took a few pics up at the Super Pit lookout.

Stopped overnight at Head of Bight, then next morning, went down to watch a whale & her calf slowly making their way westward.

It was a marvellous sight, & apparently the day before, there were 9 whales moving through.
We left there, & headed for Streaky Bay, arriving late afternoon, where we'll stay for a couple of weeks to crab, fish, surf, cycle & relax.
