BreadnJamRndTassie 28/10/17 Week 4

Grain Silos at Kimba

Left Streaky Bay on Saturday, & arrived in Adelaide on Sunday, stopping off at Kimba to view the murals painted on the side of the Grain silos, & calling in to Snowtown to see the small town that was devastated by the bodies in the barrels murders in 1999.
Jan took this pic while we were at Kimba.

Picture of a big galah, & the large concrete bird behind him, also at Kimba

Stayed overnight in a free camp at Nelshaby, which had a great Deli out on the main road.
Great range of pickles, relishes, preserved & dried meats & seafood, & huge Mettwurst Salamis.

Preserved Meat hanging on to preserved meat.

When we arrived in Adelaide, we booked into a van park at the beach near Glenelg, contacted Chris & Karen, & the next thing, we're heading off to a dance with them that afternoon at Parafield Gardens to listen & dance to Mystery Train, who were very good.

The next day Chris & Karen took us sightseeing up the Adelaide Hills, and on to the Barossa Valley. We had lunch in the town of Tanunda at the old pub. Many thanks to our Tour Guides, Chris & Karen.

Wednesday night we had a great catchup with some friends we made at Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival on our last trip. Thanks to our hosts Tom & Kelly,  who, with Lou & Dianne we had a memorable evening with.

The next day we unfolded the bikes, & cycled up to Glenelg.
They have great cycleways here where we're staying, both North & South, & all along the beachfront.

Some cool architecture along the cycleway

And then this...

Caught up with Chris when we got to Glenelg, so it was time for a coffee.

Glenelg is quite a picturesque seaside city, lots of eateries, plenty of public open space, & interesting history.
