BreadnJamRndTassie 14/10/17 week 2

Giving the Streaky Penguins a drink

Booked into the Van Park at Streaky Bay for a bit of fishing, surfing, cycling & chilling.
We decided to stay for a fortnight, its pretty nice here.
We went out to the Jetty & caught a feed of crabs with our drop nets we brought with us.

That night, we got the tail end of a storm that hit Ceduna & went on to Adelaide
Strong winds buffeted the van, awning & awning walls. At 2:30am we had
to go out & pull the whole thing down, with the wind threatening to get us
airborne! I had to cut the guy ropes to collapse the whole thing. Luckily no
damage was done, except to make new guy ropes. I thought the dead tree near us
was going to fall on us, but it held. The next day they came & cut it down &
ground the stump.

Once the wind cleared, we took the boat out for a fish.
The locals say its a bit early for the King George Whiting, but we managed
5 plus a flathead. Nice calm day out in about 3' of water.

As soon as we started cleaning them at the fish cleaning area in the park,
Pelicans materialised out of nowhere, getting so close as to almost snatch
the fish out of our hands while cleaning them!

The next day, with the wind swinging round to offshore, it was time
to head out to Granites Left for a wave.

Plenty of waves with only 6 surfers out.

the other left over to the left of the Left

The next day it was off fishing again in our little boat
We did better this time, catching a dozen. It was dead smooth, with not a drop of wind.
The water was crystal clear

The following day was sightseeing day, which took us off around the coast.
In places it's almost like the Great Ocean Road.

Found a wave like a mini Shipstern's Bluff

We leave here next Saturday for Adelaide, to catch up with Friends, & get to a dance of two.
