The elusive White Wallaby.
We walked the Fluted Cape Track for 3 hrs, climbing up & up
over uneven rocky ground, hoping to catch a glimpse of this critter.
Having no luck, we descended down the other track,
which was just as rough, without seeing hide nor hair.
After reaching the carpark, & heading off up the road,
we saw one in the backyard of a house, under the clothesline!
He obligingly stood there while we took multiple shots of him.
After a while, he got bored with us, & went back to chewing grass!
The walk up the top was worth it however, as the view was very good.
The summit is 272 metres up, with outstanding views of the
cliff face dropping vertically into the blue waters below.
Was tricky getting a pic of the true perspective of height, without going over the edge
Interesting rock formations up there
The alternative to the climb is to take the boat trip around to the Fluted Cape.
Some fungi found up the top.
The narrow neck separating Great Bay from Adventure Bay.
We finally got out fishing in our boat, after 3 days of waiting for the
strong wind to abate. We fished in Great Bay, straight out from
where we are staying, about 300 metres from shore.
The wind was still, & it was quite serene out there.
Our first 2 throwouts produced 2 flathead, both undersized,
& had to be released. However, there was never a dull moment,
as we caught fish almost every throwout, & although we must have
released 40 or so undersize, we kept 11 nice size flathead,
of which we had a few that night for dinner, delicious!
As it doesn't get dark here until 9:30, we went down to the Bay just before dusk,
To hopefully catch a calamari for Jan to eat, & also for bait.
We did manage to catch one, so Jan had some with her fish the next night,
& we had some fresh bait, the flathead went mad over.
We went out again the next day, another beautiful morning on the Bay.
Caught Flathead again, Jan caught a 3ft Gummy Shark, I caught a Ray,
both of which we released.
The Calamari tentacles are such a tenacious bait, that I caught 4 fish on the same piece.

Our catch on the 2nd day.
Again on a seafood theme, we had another oyster lunch.
This time with friends from Mandurah, Sabine & Andrew,
who were over on Bruny for the day.
Had a good catchup and lunch with them, & then, as we left, caught them on camera
red handed trying to ride off with a brand new Harley in the carpark.
Had a great time on Bruny, been here a week now, but it's time to move on.
We leave on Saturday, staying for a few days at Richmond(Tas),
& then its off to Derwent Bridge & Queenstown.
Been on Tassie for 6 weeks now, & have loved every moment.
We still have 10 weeks to go, before heading back to the mainland,
& up the East Coast for the Winter.
